Have sympathy for claims adjusters

There are a lot of posts here digging into adjusters as incompetent & not returning calls. Those of you in other areas cannot imagine the daily bombardment of work, and the number of calls. Then you’re told to suck it up and get it done! Many of us have decades of tenure and to find another job, with a somewhat comparable salary & PTO package takes a long time. Some of us are close to retirement but not old enough to qualify for Medicare. Try finding a new job in this situation. So…..Allstate will dump us soon. Thanks Big Blue for treating your loyal employees like dirt! But hey, we have to return the phone calls!

The issue for adjusters is the bad technology they’re working with. It’s also the poor leadership. For example in CT Auto, they had someone who was very incapable of managing an office. He just played favorites and also let customers wait weeks and weeks to have their vehicles appraised. If you dared asked what was going on you got sarcastically scolded. If that was going on in Connecticut and senior leaders didn’t care, you can only imagine what was going on countrywide. Some of the CT leaders admitted they weren’t really working to employees below them. Beyond that, OP is correct. Please have serious sympathy for claims adjusters in this company. They are being treated very poorly and also don’t have company support. They are constantly left to apologize to customers but unable to provide any answers. It’s just sad.

I worked claims for decades and it’s always been horrible even on a good day. Claims really needs to unionize if it stays in the States.

I thought the brilliant idea to have a walk out a couple weeks ago was supposed to send a message to the company. Did that ever happen?
