Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Know your rights

You are not chattel. You agreed to work for Allstate, not company XYZ. If Allstate no longer has a job for you, you are entitled to severance. Every company is different and there is no way Allstate can claim that working at Allstate is the same as working at company XYZ. There are just too many tangible and intangible differences.

Severance is not required by law so stop with this narrative

We'll see I guess. This is not what we are hearing. We are being transferred to the vendor and are considered resigning if we don't move with the job from what we are being told. I think a company from Allstate has all their ducks in a row and most likely the employees suffer like usual.

Again, why would anyone take advice from a front line claim rep???? They can’t even return a simple phone call or speak to customers like they are humans. He must have slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Unfortunately the last post is correct. We are all employees at will. There may be a few executives but most of us can leave anytime or get laid off anytime for any reason

Sorry, you are mistaken. Unless you have an written employment contract, you are owed nothing.
