Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Recession is coming, layoffs to follow?

Will history repeat itself, again?
Every time the economy dives, our leadership’s response is to reduce headcount.
What does Q3-4 have in store for us?

I predict a return of the Christmas Party...I mean Holiday party. That's how we celebrated at the end of 2014.

Not happening. We ramp up during recessions. Cash flow is increased in this business. Maybe enroll in an entry level economy class. What other poster stated about NxtGen yeah IT will get cut 30-40% and that’s a modest number.

I can only wish for an EOI. Price of oil is too high and NextGen (moving apps to the cloud) will keep me around till 2025. After Nextgen we will see IT layoffs just like P66. I think we will need to wait for a big acquisition to divestiture for the next layoff. The price of oil would need to drop below $50 bbl for COP to consider a layoff.

Everything is based on the price of oil. If you influence it, you keep your job.
