Farley is out. During the GTH, he read directly from the script, never once ad-libbing. Body language showed him to be emotionless, yet uncomfortable. Perhaps he has been told to stay on script or lose bonus? Wonder if that merger or buyout from VW is getting ready to happen?

The point is a static salary does NOT account for above-and-beyond performance, great ideas, and personal sacrifice. That would be rewarded by a bonus, stock options as well as good relationships.
Unless of course, the message is to please perform nominally and cut all other ambitions. But that means someone having what it takes to become more than nominal will not develop and there is no chance for a product to go beyond.

I know folks that came up with great ideas to reduce part costs and they implemented them. Took years sometimes. But if it all leads nowhere its pointless...

When you pay for your food at Kroger, do you go out of your way to be rude to the employees, or are you courteous? Some people foster a happy workplace, others don't.

I pay my electric bill, however I don't thank DTE for the electricity, I pay my water bill, but I don't thank the municipality for the water. Exxon for the gasoline, Kroger for the food... and on and on...

@2zho Payday is financial compensation for services rendered required by law. Thanking me for my service is actually voluntary and free.

@2zho - Paydays are compensation for my time and work provided. This is not the same as getting "thanks" or seeing appreciation of any sort.

The HTHD program is a farce for people moved into it. A change in pay range without a bump in actual pay is about as good as putting some lipstick next to a porcine beast and not even applying it. Might as well make the top of the pay range $2M and say that everyone in the program is a potential multi-millionaire

It will be all salary grades and Both Ford Motor Company and Ford Credit that is another reason that TLs and supervisors and COMs are shaking. They are on the chopping block too. They may possibly wait until after the 4 th of July to make announcements but yes by Oct. 31st people will be gone.

Interesting you say that, because it appeared HTHD did really nothing to raise anyone's base pay. It only widened the pay bracket. It is assumed it might boost bonuses, which however, are still smaller than competition.

Rest assured something is brewing, management in my area of ModelE have been having many workshops on how to restructure the organization. The reality is they have a $21B investment going into electrification and the returns are fleeting. It speaks volumes when the CFO openly admits this in public forum; therefore you know it is nothing good. Frankly I look at the direction the company has gone since I started there and when Mullally left it was back to business as usual. (Not saying his tenure was perfect but JFC was it better than the last two and the current one, at least he knew how to talk and not come of as pompous or strung out on dr-gs). Many people make the comparison to the Lions and that is probably the best analogy to the whole situation. The Ford family is just lost, almost like they are squeezing the last drops of milk out of the utter before they plug old Betsy with the 22.

More rumors…. Seems like the “Voluntary” offers would be first, with a threat of “Involuntary” after. If Involuntary is first why don’t they just let everyone go and then there would be no need for voluntary. I believe in the past voluntary was offered first.

Good source says cuts coming in October. Those are involuntary separation - SIRP. November they will offer retirement packages to incentivize folks to leave. It’s not just Ford blue that will be cut. There are many ford employees that are on the Ford E side that are going to be let go. They aren’t the right fit. I have been with ford for 29 years and I am waiting for the retirement package, I think. I don’t need my lump sum getting smaller and smaller. I do need the insurance, so likely need to stay some time. Decisions decisions…..

To last poster, could your friend be worried about the SCOTUS decisions coming today, and not work related? Lots of concern about violence in the cities because people do not like the decision(s).

As far as the OP, yes there are things going on. Recently spoke to someone in the know, who couldn't say much due to NDAs. But.....

Involuntaries are coming. It is going to happen, more than likely in 3Q (my take).

Voluntaries will also happen. By the end of the year there will be packages to incentivize retirements. But the involuntaries will happen first (maybe to scare people into taking packages?).

Everyone needs to have a plan, if you think you might be targeted I would be looking for a job right now. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the job market.

Could something be happening today? A friend of mine on social media (LL6) just implied that something bad is going down today. But his comment was nebulous enough that it might not even have anything to do with the company.

Definite silence from LL5+. Also, the attrition rate is really climbing. Losing people fast in various departments. Cannot blame these people. Loyalty and trust are out the door.

Lump sums in Canada are already taking a huge hit. I was told if you are a GSR8 (engineering) at 3/4 point, you can expect approx. $80k-100K drop in lump sum for every 1% increase in interest rate.
