The looming recession is extremely worrying. It doesn’t seem to me like T is in great shape to handle the recession, although I’ve seen that there are those here who think otherwise. Thoughts?

The layoffs coming soon as many companies already started
Soup lines anyone?
I think we may actually already be in a recession. With all the shortages they are expecting (baby formula, tampons, DEF) and the rising cost of gas it's just getting started. Also the Dow just this week officially entered a bear market. All the articles I read are expecting a recession late this year and into next year. The tech companies are starting to layoff now. The labor shortage is mainly due to all the boomers that started retiring in 2020. That will keep unemployment lower than normal for a recession, but I do think before it is all over unemployment will rise as well. Good luck to all!
This might not be a normal recession. A recession is defined as 2 declining quarters. But in the Jan-Mar quarter, there was Omnicron. And at this point, stimulus money is running out, reducing demand. And the Fed stopped printing money in February.
There doesn't look like there is any pressure on the employment market. If anything, labor shortage will persist.
If we have a further decline Jul-Sep, then I think there is a problem. But these last couple of quarters have been manipulated with stimulus money and money printing.
A real recession will increase unemployment. That looks nowhere in sight.
Hey, Fed is also not handling the recession well so what do you expect from T.
I can't think of another company that is better positioned to weather the recession than T. Most mobility customers would chew their hand off before giving up their cell phone. Me included, I'll make sure my cell phone bill is paid before any other monthly bills.
Again, the Stink loves a bad economy.
- He does not have to pay bigger TSR. Lower salary ranges, no increases to pay - except for the Stink!
- It will be easier for him to su---r in new employees that he can S C R E W over.
- Another excuse to rebadge employees and get rid of them for free!
- Easy for the Stink to layoff - oh the grin on his ugly mug!
- No need for any Pajama Party Videos - no need to "motivate" employees!
T is a cash cow! Loads of money coming in everyday. This company has been running strong for 125 years, nothing's changed much.
Better off since Stinky got rid of Time Warner. Who knows though. Anyone who posts here doesn't have a clue, myself included!
