If you don't want to follow that link:

"Please note it is not a stop sale. Dealer can still sell. They just can’t deliver the vehicle."

"On affected vehicles, Direct Current (“DC”) fast charging and repeated wide open pedal events can cause the high voltage battery main contactors to overheat. Overheating may lead to arcing and deformation of the electrical contact surfaces, which can result in a contactor that remains open or a contactor that welds closed."

"The remedy for this program is a Secondary On-Board Diagnostic Control Module (SOBDMC) and Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) software update."

Side note:
I would think the heat is coming from electrical current. So the only way to reduce the heat induced by a current is to reduce the current itself or otherwise replace the terminals. This would be equivalent to reducing power output. Last time that happened was with VW's emissions problem and people wanted their money back because the car didn't hold what was promised in terms of power output.

Hey be nice to Jim. He is the most humble leader. He keeps his compensation modest so the workers can get their fair share. He rarely self promotes because he knows deep down that even if the world didn’t know the amazing things he does he is good with that. After all his employees if given a choice would chose no other leader. He is rarely on social media because he is results oriented, not talking up work that has to be done but rather doing it. He has the upmost respect for workers with experience, very rarely will he put an unqualified person in charge of leading an organization. People do not need to kiss up to him, he wants to know the truth, regardless of how bad it may make him look. He has made sure that non value added activity is minimized; after all we are an automotive company which needs to build cars that people value, this has been evident with all the affordable reliable cars that Ford produces. If you read this and laughed you lose.lol

So, the 2021 Mustang Mach-E has had five recalls and 101 manufacturer communications involving various issues including suspension, visibility, electrical systems, brakes, steering, seats and tires. The 2022 Mustang Mach-E has had one recall and 20 manufacturer communications.

THIS IS ALL ON FARLEY!!! But racing and podcasts are more important to him.
The EV that was supposed to be Ford’s savior is just another piece of junk.
Good luck selling a subscription for anything to anyone who bought these vehicles.

So, owners need to go to a Ford DEALER to complete a software update, in order to be able to use their vehicle, immediately after Farley told the world we don’t need dealers anymore. Great move, Carcar.

Yeah, where is the "data and services" poster on this news? ROFL

Can't sell data and services if your vehicles roll to a stop, can't be sold, and cannot be fixed for 3 months.

How much data is generated while on Sales Hold? Hey Jim, Losing data revenues daily from anyone brave enough to buy a Mach-E.

Lots of other words can be substituted for “brave.”

Ford sent a notice entitled "NEW VEHICLE DEMONSTRATION / DELIVERY HOLD - Advance Notice - Safety Recall 22S41" to all dealers specifying that 2021 and 2022 Mustang Mach-E electric crossovers produced between May 27, 2020, and May 24, 2022, at the automaker's Cuautitlan plant in Mexico, may be impacted. This would potentially apply to all ~100,000 Mach-E's produced since the EV first launched, though it's not clear how many are actually impacted and will be officially recalled.

The Ford memo explains that the Mustang Mach-E's primary high voltage battery contactors could overheat. If it happens, it could cause "an open contactor or welding condition," which may lead to the contactors welding shut while the car is in motion. Owners of affected vehicles may be alerted by a powertrain malfunction warning light the next time they drive, and the Mach-E could fail to start.

The vehicle may also display "Stop Safely Now" on the gauge cluster, and a total and immediate loss of power could follow. Ford says the Mach-E will simply coast to a stop. However, all 12-volt systems, including the power brakes and steering, should remain functional.

Ford doesn't expect to have a fix for the problem until Q3 2022. Once the fix is determined and the parts become available for order, Mustang Mach-E owners will be alerted by Ford via first-class mail. The dealer bulletin reads:

"DO NOT DEMONSTRATE OR DELIVER any new in-stock vehicles involved in this safety recall. A complete Dealer Bulletin will be provided to dealers in the 3rd quarter of 2022 when it is anticipated that software and/or parts ordering information and repair instructions will be available to support this safety recall."
