Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Hiring freeze

I hope the hiring freeze does not spread throughout the entire company. We have been trying to fill a few positions for months with no luck and I know two more people are planning to leave. If we don't get anybody before they leave, we're screwed. There's no chance we'll be able to get anything done. Should I worry about this or will the hiring freeze stay as is?

Get out before it's too late! I left after half my team left and I was doing the work of 3 people. Now I am happier, get more pay, and have better wlb.

You should worry that your employer has a 0 chance of taking over TSMC which has large economy of scale advantages.

Major server customers like google, Microsoft and Facebook are building their own custom server silicon.

Apple is taking over notebook sales.
Qualcomm will join the fray with their new high performance nuvia chip to provide intense windows pc competition.
AMD is a juggernaut that is also riding on TSMC.

It’s pretty grim.
