I like the industry. Chevron people are generally easy to get along with. The work is fine. The office politics and bureaucracy is the same as any big company. The one thing that gets me to consider laying myself off is the leftist/globalist politics that show up through things like DEI and ESG. I’d rather we stay neutral. However, like other institutions, the industry has been infiltrated by activists.

Sir this is a Wendy’s. We do not serve green eggs and ham, Sam I am.
@3pgn, who claimed that? If you are having reading comprehension problems, we are here to help, mate
I’d prefer drag queen story hour to MW’s recital of Green Eggs & Ham anyday.
My brother is Christ, leftists and globalists are not the Same thing. You absolute donkey.
I come to work on time, do my job as well as possible and leave. I get along with everyone in the workplace and don’t engage in political or religious talk or opinion at all. I prefer to not have anyone at Chevron as a friend, they are only coworkers. Chevron for me is only a job, a place to make good money so I can retire years from now to another country far away from the wokeness destroying this country. Sure there are some nice places to live in the US and lots of decent good people, but that’s fading away quickly. I want a peaceful and wholesome retirement away from the dregs of society.
So teaching children LGBT related subjects by drag queens is a change for the better or is introducing non-work, non- Oil & Gas industry political activist topics and influences into the workplace a change for the better? If you believe that support for these minority community issues and the presence of social discussions on these topics not only is appropriate for the energy industry but belongs in the workplace at all, I am anxious to learn how and why. I have always considered myself very open-minded.
And the comments in this thread are exactly what’s wrong with this company and industry. Get over it losers, times have changed for the better.
I wish I would have spoke up when PRIDE employee network hosted a “read a book with a drag queen” kids event.
People need to speak up when things are wrong. I did when some of the woke stuff started getting out of hand. I was in a teams meeting with thirty or forty others present. No one said a word to back me up. We are too afraid of being dubbed racist.
Bye
Hand yourself a pink slip. Every day you have a choice.
The good news is you can feel free to leave, your choice. And, guess what, you won’t be missed.
