Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

I wonder if HR is working overtime right now? (ie, putting packages together)

Has anyone heard if HR is working overtime, coming up to the all hands meeting Tuesday 8/2?

Intel has had some seemingly promising technology ideas (Optane, WiMax, WiDi, etc.) and done so ahead of others, but Intel can’t seem to drive the ideas into becoming accepted (money-making) standards. So the company remains solely a PC processor company, and has managed to fall into second place on that.

There needs to be a turnaround quick or the job cuts could be significant.

Packages? You think you’ll get packages after a quarter like that ? You’ll get a swift kick in the rear as you go flying out the door.

They can't fire me because I'm URM, I got it made.

Employees are not held to account.
There is systemic rot in the management structure.

Wow, no wonder the company isn't doing well. Sounds like they have a lot of highly paid workers not working.

HR already has a gold build for their layoff package — they only need to tweak it. Intel often manages to keep politically-connected toxic incompetents or other completely unnecessary workers (ex: both managers in a two-in-a box arrangement) while terminating good employees, so the gold build clearly needs work. But when it comes to firing the wrong people quickly, no one is better than Intel.

@mqv+1hYV4zS here

@itf+1hYV4zSO -- I don't have to smoke anything. I am happy getting free money from intel. Instead of complaining be happy and enjoy to be at intel. Try to get side hustle where you can make extra money. I am in Bay Area and have started construction business as side hustle. In the morning around 6:30 am construction workers come to small shop I am leasing and instruct them to go to various sites and what work to do. I visit few sites in the morning till 9:30 am for measurement, ordering and inspection. Come home and work till lunch (basically check email and attend meetings). After lunch I visit sites (need basis max 2days/week) for city inspection. Now a days lot of money in construction business. Most of Bay Area homes are old and require remodeling.

I highly suggest intel co-workers to find side hustle to make extra money. Once you reach grade 9 ( I am in grade 10) you only attend meetings and reply few emails. I haven't opened vnc since last two years. You need only Powerpoint, Excel and Word. Instead of whining try to improve your bottom line. Pat is not going to fix intel until he fires 30% staff especially several employees like me. He is not interested in fixing intel. He will collect big paycheck for 5 years and leave. if you remember BK, he spent borrowed money to repurchase shares and sold most of his stocks at 50 and left. Try to be happy and learn to take advantage of system. That is what everybody does in this world. Current libtard government is doing same. Pelosi and democrats always want 1T dollar or bigger package even though US has 33T debt.

sorry for too much writing.

Of course it’s coming. You can feel it. The quickest way to lower costs is to cut labor. Every CEO has done it and Pat will too. We work at Intel. We’re always afraid. It’s the culture.

Hopefully, you are right! The stock needs a bit of a boost and usually does when mgmt takes this kind of action. Unfortunately, nobody in HR ever gets laid off even though they contribute nothing to company bottom line. Just act as executive henchmen to chop heads as needed.
