Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Sixty percent of workers saw their real earnings jump by 9.7 percent on average

News out today - so depressing. "Sixty percent of workers who switched jobs from April 2021 to March 2022 saw their real earnings jump — by 9.7 percent on average." 'Those who stuck with their company fared poorly. Only 47 percent saw their real earnings increase, and they typically saw a 1.7 percent drop in income when it was adjusted for inflation'.
I wish my Windstream wages only dropped 1.7 percent when adjusted for inflation - Windstream Management - are you ever going to fix this or will you keep adding more and more warm bodies with continuously falling productivity levels?

"3% a year is a joke." - Try dividing by three

'That's a risky move considering after taxes, pay will probably be about the same. Maybe less depending on overall compensation package of the new job.'

FAKE NEWS - more than likely pay will be much MORE than WE's pay. Better benefits, better corporate structure - WIN - WIN for employee to jump to different company - unless it is Frontier.

Sounds like a manager response. Leave unless you are happy.. 3% a year is a joke. SSA's COLA is higher than Win raises.

The grass will always look greener on the other side. Must be an article from recruiters encouraging people to leave jobs as it is recruiters who stand to gain when placing people in new jobs. They do not care about the long-term well-being of employees.

Those who switch and supposedly ended up in better paying jobs need to understand they were probably hired to fill a short-term need. Once better talent is out there willing to work for cheaper $, these folks will probably find themselves on the chopping block.

If you switch jobs, make sure to look at the new company closely - culture, benefits, commute, stability - and make sure it is worth the move.
