Hate to tell you it is failed effort, Intel is Titanic after the iceberg hit, sinking is a certainty

I’m working from the time I wake up until the time I go to bed, serving factory stakeholders and managing vendors globally. Never worked so many hours since I was 20 working three jobs.

Frankly I hope they will cut most in the people in US. Most of these guys are useless.

Some of these comments are ridiculous. People who clearly haven’t worked there in years chiming in. Do you bozos even know most people have not set foot into an Intel campus in 2 and 1/2 years? There is no “leaving early”. There is no leaving at all because nobody goes there in the first place.

So if you are actually getting work done then you are a chump. Compare that nice environment to competitors.

Your friend who "works from India" 10-12 weeks a year is from a "minority" category of employees. It is because of minority population that Intel gets govt contracts.
So when BK was the CEO, he made rules that minorities are treated like royalty and given compulsory promotions!

The minorities soon learnt that working or pretending to work or just blatant not working, their salary/raises/promotions will keep coming.

Plus her husband is probably a senior big-shot guy!
If she gets kicked out of her current group, she will find a job in a different group within Intel!

Frankly there should be, if not a reduction in force, a housekeeping of those of us that just DGAF.

At the risk of doxxing myself I can tell you I work in Santa Clara. I do go in early, but I'm lazy af at work until I leave for lunch around 10, I proceed to take a 2-2.5 hour break at home and come back mid afternoon. Continue to be lazy af on my phone with frequent bathroom trips. Probably work 2 hours a day, on my already shortened work week. After suffering these exhaustive work weeks I either chisel away at enormous amounts of PTO or plan my next sabbatical.

Why am I telling you this? Because its systemic, so much so even with this amount of detail I don't think you could identify me. No one cares, and no one is going to say anything because we're all doing it, including our direct manager and skip.

If investors really knew the culture at intel, it would be a penny stock.

Buh-bye LP and take your incompetent cronies with you: ST the perpetual bad decision maker, and MA the architect of the brain dead Windows graphics driver.

I know a friend who works for Intel (Folsom). She spends about 10-12 weeks a year claiming to work from India. And even when she is in Folsom, she is mostly engaged in non-work social activities. I always wondered how Intel permits this kind of incompetence. Now I understand, it looks this culture is quite prevalent at Intel.

Who to layoff though? A balance is needed.

Their are a lot of lazy grade 9s…. Leaving at 2 everyday.

There are a lot of new people who don’t know their head from their a-s… and letting them deal with Fabs, suppliers and customers would be like throwing them to the sharks.

Too bad they will just listen to a consultant and not the actual employees who work their as--s off.

Intel can't lay people off while taking all of the free government $$$.

But with free freshly printed $ market forces are meaningless. Party on.

Hopefully! Look what all the retained, so-called superstars have done. Basically stock has lost 50% of it's value since 2016. Terrible last report. Intel needs to burn the fat and deadwood, as a start.

I don't really understand why someone would WANT to work 1 hour a day. Isn't pretending to look productive more stressful than actually being productive?

Companies that are doing a lot better than Intel are already laying people off in preparation for what’s coming. The industry as a whole is entering troubled economic waters, and Intel is doing poor relative to the industry. So yeah, layoffs are going to happen. Too early to speculate much beyond that.
