someone I know was laid off in March. After 5 years of employment they got 8 weeks pay. It's not worth sticking around for severance... go find something better. There are better places to work :)

I was laid off recently and received a package. Life is better now btw
I'd imagine that will all depend on where the layoffs happen. Certain jurisdictions have statutory severance packages and - if the the number of layoffs are large enough - a period of consultation.
Hopefully, there are no major layoffs. I suspect the poster at: @1nwu+1hUKdret is more accurate, regardless of last quarter's results.
if your hope is a severance package, you won't be getting one here.

I've not personally heard anything about that, though supposedly we didn't hit our Q2 numbers, so some random layoffs are just the thing to turn that around...

there's no one left to layoff ! people are leaving on their own ( they want this and it's cheaper $$ )
I know attrition is high but that never stopped them before.
