Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Talk is some teams will be forced to cut associates soon

Does anybody have more info on this? I've read this in several places so far and even heard people talk about it at work but nobody has any additional info. I sometimes wonder if no info is indeed better than vague info that only makes me worry for no good reason.

Why on earth would anyone worry so much about this corporation? Have some confidence. Move on... there are so many good places to work and will actually respect you and you can transfer that downward trending 401k... Most of which is walmart stock. If you don't die while working at that place your loved ones won't be able to cash in on your life insurance unless you transfer to an individual policy with an enormous markup, you can get health benefits just about anywhere and build vaca/sick time to actually use when wanted or needed. If you aren't a favored one there, move on! Dont stand for the abuse!

The comment above is spot on...20+ year associate myself. At one point about 6 years ago 6 or 7 people worked in claims/receiving. Now we are down to 3 or 4. Nothing has gotten easier even with all this fantastic technology. Did they think claims would be easier?? We take back EVERYTHING we sell...soiled stanky 10 year old mattresses ect...claims area is a cluttered disaster every morning, receiving is usually the same...shrink is always on backroom associates (couldn't be scan and go) lol .now the vendors and drivers scan the bar code on back door and somehow the store is graded on this??? There is noone in the office to answer phones or doorbells anymore. What clueless folks come up with this po-p. Pretty certain that noone in home office that makes these calls has worked a minute on a loading dock.....really sad how hard employees are pushed.....yet some "teacher pets" continually skate around at a snails pace and nothing is done.....I could go on for hours....but won't!!

it will not surprise anyone to see corporate order more cuts to hours and staffing. they are determined to make every associate's job more difficult.
at one time the company wanted associates to enjoy work & be happy. now it seems they want people to be miserable and exhausted when they walk out the door.
these are evil minds in bentonville.

Not to be rude and crude when I make this statement, so please nobody take it as such, because I would feeling this way myself. There are so many issues and complaints in this company, and many who are upset, hence why we are all on this forum in the 1st place right? Many unhappy people, so if there are cuts and people are let go (the unhappy ones that is) then maybe this gives you the push and motivation to find your true calling that is out there in life. Sam's just gave you a gift in a lot of respects. I guess what I am saying is that maybe it's a blessing in disguise, and you don't realize it yet, but you will.

Wouldn't surprise me if they eliminate cashiers. The company seems to be heading in a direction where they want members to only use self checkout and scan n go.

With Walmart projecting lower profit outlook for the year. Expect cuts at Sams Club also. Should've sold my stock months ago.

🤔 The club I am at has not overspent on payroll for the last six months. The accepted norm is least amount of associates showing up for work and we just leave 12 to 20 pallets down. You know just in case.

We are at the stage you can not get turnip juice from a rock. And you need a rock if you want turnip juice.

I am a 20 year associate. I get anxiety spikes walking into the place. Every moment I am there I am worried if I am doing well enough to not get coached that day. I havent been coached for performance ever in my time here but the crazy amount they keep pushing us to do is just that , crazy. I am not sure how much longer I will make it without having a nervous breakdown. If they decrease our team size it will be truely unbearable.
