I used to really enjoy my job here. Now, however, this is a mess in which the best leave and the laziest and least competent are the most valued. Everyone wants to get a better offer and leave here. Is there a any way to fix this mess? Does HV need radical changes?

Hitachi Ltd. has no intention of 'growing' HV. It is, and always has been a WRITE-OFF.
They layoff extremely good talent, hire 'new idea' people that sc--w things up left and right, put pathetic people that are left after a layoff in decision making mgmt positions. There are constant, yearly under-budgeted groups with unrealistic expectations.
The number of employees has stayed same by and large, for well over 20 years.
I left 3 years ago despite being on the trajectory. Now I’m at a pre IPO, making £2m Pa, driving a lambo and surrounded by smart people. So, don’t hang around, hang out your CV
I am the same way. I used to really enjoy everything here but the money is not here. The company cannot keep giving more work and invisible promotions without fair and competitive pay if any increase in pay at all.
I can assure you—my next place was MUCH different. The other poster was right. HV has no vision and is in a downward spiral. It’s a shame. It’s salvageable but not without new management and some serious investment. I wouldn’t count on that.
leave.......problem solved. Then you'll find out the next place is not much different.
There is no vision for the future here. Everything has been in flux since HV was created. People come. People go. The idea of trying to retain people is just a myth. Global Logic is going to further diminish HV as a viable company. People need to wake up and do what's right for themselves before it's too late.
From previous post and reply….
“…. the best leave and the laziest and least competent are the most valued. ”
“Most companies except Amazon and Microsoft are losing people. HV needs stability and stabilized job mkt so people stop leaving.”
So the incompetent management value the least competent by raising their pay to retain them!! And the incompetent management performance review is now rank “out performance”
An excellent topic for HBR case study!!
Most companies except Amazon and Microsoft are losing people. HV needs stability and stabilized job mkt so people stop leaving.
