Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Confirmed Layoffs starting in August through end of year

All that is being said is U.S. based employees to be hit hard. No real specifics to actual department. Supposedly transfer of employees to contractors in play too. Hearing over 10,000 to be laid of or transferred to contractors. Info from person with links to HR.

I heard 75,000 people were going to be laid off and the company sold to Musk. You all are clowns and high school drama queens. Get a life. If you don’t like it there are millions of other companies that you can work at and complain about.

TW has committed a 3pp expense ratio reduction over the next 3 years to Wall Street. He has never delivered on growth, as that requires successfully competing in the insurance marketplace. But cutting expenses is within his more immediate control through reduction in stateside staff, lower agency commissions, less real estate, etc. The playbook includes digitization which is highly aspirational given our limited tech prowess. Easy to offshore and outsource work in the short-term to make the numbers. But as we are now witnessing, the more claim functions we give away or compromise for alleged efficiency, the more we pay in loss costs with poor quality. Note that claim service peaked in Fall 2020 ahead of the Thanksgiving RIF.

Someone doesn't know the meaning of the word "confirmed".

You really think Allstate is laying off over 20% of its workforce when they're scrambling to hire in multiple departments while offering nearly unlimited OT?

I heard slightly lower numbers of around 8000 but otherwise this is close that what my area has been hearing. If it is front line or customer/agency facing its vendor bound.

I believe the poster. I wouldn't panic though. Relax, update your resume. If you get laid off then take the severance and get a new job. If you don't get laid off then keep working.

Keep laughing at the messenger and think on your mind that this horrid corporation is not going to send you packing. You soon will see the announcement..

Not what I heard. Looking to send work over to ASPL, but are still hiring processors. No layoffs. I don’t understand why there’s so many different scenarios. Who’s lying to whom? Why can’t they just tell us the truth for once.

If half the layoff rumors on this site were remotely true Allstate would have two employees left

A “person with links to HR”? That means a person who once applied for a job at Allstate but was not hired.
