Underwriting soon to be totally automated

Accepts will be an accept, rejects will be a reject with no more questioning and no rebuttals, and no decisions will either be be kicked to accept or reject by the bots and AI. There will be no more live underwriting service. Totally automated and final. All agency input and inquiry will be no more. What the AI and bots say for underwriting will be final. We have been testing this behind the scenes for about 6 months now.

I used to underwrite for Allstate until I moved to sales at progressive.. I make 15k more a year and knew this was coming since they took our ability to make any decisions away.

Gone were the days we could actually review a risk and make exceptions.
No wonder agents hated us… they’ve been streamlining this forever now.

Combine that with a vendor from Mexico with no prior experience with Allstate handling all agency chats. Us agencies are in for a world of fun.

When will underwriting be eliminated?

Who cares about underwriting decisions. It has been like this for the last 10 years. The company was wasting money year after year paying underwriters to simply read the guidelines to the agents. They had virtually no authority to grant exceptions. The real issue is when a policy gets screwed up (happens often) there will be no ability to fix it because of no human interaction. Allstate is simply betting that they will write more new business than what is leaving out the back door. Only time will tell

Guess it won’t be long before liability and injury adjuster jobs are automated. It is clear the bots are taking over decisions. The executives will be richer for it as big chunks of staff are let go sue to automation. Opinions, integrity , teamwork solving problems are not the way business runs these days. Human touch is gone
