Before anyone gets too comfy, don't forget about Model E. I was part of model E and still got the ax the past April. Likely had to do with the fact I am above 50, was a longtime GSR 8 in the highest paygrade bracket, and also was non-technical in a somewhat technical area.

However, they already went that route late last year with the voluntaries and earlier this year with the April action, so they will have no choice but to cut some much younger meat now if the numbers being talked about are true...good luck to all!

Yep, all of the misery due to the economy is being done on purpose because you know, CLIMATE CHANGE! The elites will be just fine while everyone else will just have to be happy with just getting by if at all, eating rats and bugs and whatever they can hunt for or grow themselves.

Lucky for the "over 50" crowd, HR realizes the GSR ages like wine and not like bread.

Ford is overstaffed and needs a real shake down. This is the real reason for the job cuts. There are so many "loafers" and "slackers".

Powertrain, fuel systems, everything strictly ICE related, a 1/3 of body engineering, third of studio, 2/3 clay modelers, 1/4 of DTO, and pinch of IT.

Good recipe for disaster

Just the beginning. Look for an even worse 2023 as the economy gets "engineered" to a crawl through demand destruction. The Fed is going go all in on tamping down inflation in 1 (uno) go around to avoid a double recession similar to the 70's era inflation crisis.

They have been cutting IT this year so IT, probably PD, probably Manufacturing. After that quality because why not, purchasing, and marketing

HR will probably stay safe

Who will get laid off?

  1. low performers?
  2. person in wrong position (ICE) at wrong time?
  3. the TA white guy because we value diversity (at the cost of everything)?

I’m thinking “C”

“No fancy fellas from Silicon Valley” want to work at Ford. JF and his Board don’t understand that new software engineering graduates view Ford as an old and outdated company and would never move to Michigan from California.

Those who are working from home for the past 2 years will get a surprise.
