Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Only those who have no other options are still here

And I'm not talking about much better opportunities either. I'm almost certain that most people would leave Allstate as long as they get some decent, acceptable offer. I personally know several people who accepted an even worse job, just to get out of here. What does that say about Allstate and the leadership here?

I’ve been supporting Agency Services on the marketing side for years and wish I had the skills to go somewhere else. I just know I wouldn’t be able to get a comparable job outside of Allstate. Another 6 years and I’ll be able to retire and leave this he-l ho-e

Yikes! I was one of the adjusters laid off 2 years ago and refuse to come back unless they made changes. I see they haven't even started. I also find it funny that was I ready to quit prior to the lay off and thankfully laid off with severance - which I still have as it was generous comparatively to other companies who laid of workers in 2020. I wish you all experience and get a chance of peace post Allstate.

I’m an adjuster and I get over 80 calls a day. I would never get my work done if I answered or returned the calls. I am waiting and desperate for the buy out. I work for Nat General, the problem right now is that Allstate and Nat General work on 2 different claims systems. Once they announce one and the same system the layoffs will start.

I take Nonstop calls from customers wondering why their adjusters haven’t called them back. How do I tell them that there’s hardly any adjusters left here and those that remain are overworked and on the other line talking to more angry customers about their claims because Allstate laid off too many adjusters 2 years ago to save a dollar.

The non management people left at Allstate don’t have viable options otherwise. Therefore they will hang on until the bitter end and hope like he-l things semi work out economically speaking. Some will retire, some will get contractor gigs, some will take substantial pay cut to land a job, some will transition into service or retail jobs to have money coming, some will be long term unemployed, some will be consumed by anger and resentment that destroys marriage and relationships, some will absolutely thrive getting out of Allstate. Sociologists could have s lifetime of work documenting what happens to all these folks over the next several years. But don’t mock them. Rather wish all of them perseverance, guidance and peace.

I get it. Some departments may suck. Mine requires a lot of hard work which is what you should expect, but I am not here because I have to be. I'm treated with respect...work can be tough, but personally I stay because I enjoy it. I could get another job somewhere if that was my choice. Blast away

Many people have been here for decades, since before all this BS started. Many are at the top of their pay grade. Maybe close to retirement. Who’s gonna hire someone two years away from retirement? These people are hanging on to avoid financial ruin. And frankly, these are the people who have been holding the place together! What is now happening to loyal employees is a travesty!

This place is a giant shitball. Filled with corn and goo. It’s the worst run place ever. The employees left are bringing it even further down as no one can keep up with the constant sewage. Better move it to India faster Glenn. They’re used to open canals of dung. More in the states are jumping ship daily thanks to you and your transformative growth. The Allstate customer has little idea what has been done to this once great company. Good job going slow so they won’t notice the transition. Meanwhile you can blame COVID
