You can discuss your pay. It's protected by the 1st Amendment and has been successfully challenged in court.

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. On the other hand, be careful when and where you do discuss it.

So what answer is right? If it is protected then you have nothing to fear. If there is a policy or procedure then that could be a different outcome?

The higher the grade the more s-x you get in the back offices by young supervisors looking to move up.

Pay grades don’t matter and here’s why… I’m pay grade 11. New dude hired in at two bucks more an hour as me, same pay grade. Specialist just hired at $22, ds just hired at $24. Existing pay grade 18 specialist make less. Moral of the story??? If lowes is desperate, they will pay. If you’re buddies with management, they will hook you up. I have other pay disparity examples, but I’d be typing all day. And no, the people making more are nothing special, just lucky I guess. Best to quit and reapply to make more.

It's not even about the low pay anymore. Lowes is just a s-h-I-t-t-y environment. I saw my SM breakdown in his car the other day. I went and tapped on his window and motioned for him to roll it down. I asked if he was alright? He replied "this place is ki----g me!"..and sobbed into his steering wheel. I told him "can we go somewhere? Somewhere that will wipe your tears away?" He agreed and let me in his car. I directed to the sports bar across the street and we entered. Hours later we were thrown out for "being unruly and loud"..whatever! But on that day I felt I truly made a connection with my SM. He opened up on so many levels. How he misses fast food mgmt. All the young girls he fancies in the store. His utter loathing of our DM. We hope to try another bar soon. So go give your SM a hug today..he may really need one.

Back End Clerks should be grade 12 or higher. That's the reason I left. Combined two full time jobs into one with no more pay. Actually a pay grade less than head cashier. BS!!!

I seldom had "serious discussions” with co-workers about our pay but I never hesitated to mention it either - like “I’m not getting only $14.00/hr to do the work of 3 people” - that sort of thing,
