State Farm must answer racial discrimination suit, federal judge rules

A federal judge has rejected State Farm’s attempt to dismiss a class action lawsuit alleging that the carrier “systematically discriminates” against Black agents.

Seven current and former agents claim that State Farm’s “uniform set of firm-wide policies and practices” have resulted in lower pay, heightened scrutiny, differential discipline, and higher rates of attrition for Black agents.….

Agents are so isolated now that it’s really hard to know how others are feeling or being treated. The trick seems to be selling enough to stay out of trouble, but not enough that SF really pays attention.

A good predator in mother nature sits back, stays calm, knows its strengths and weaknesses before their prey makes its error. SF has repeatedly over the past 30 years made their employees prey without understanding their limitations. Be patient. Predators do become prey.

The judge was also not convinced by State Farm’s argument that it has a financial interest in the success of all of its agents.
