Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

We're in for a long rough ride ahead base on the recent numbers just released!

This new CPI of 9.1% is very concerning and I would expect a slowdown in business heading into an inevitable recession if we're not already there. These politicians always think they're the smartest people in the room, but clearly, they're clueless especially when they won't even listen to their economic advisors. We're in for a lot of uncertainty ahead!

On “ T is pretty immune to these activity's. ”

Need to understand that AT&T fortune is affected by two dynamics

  1. The boring, unexciting, Cash cow of subscription-based services. For whatever reason consumers have gone from owning $10-$20 pm per household landline service to a few hundred per month - without much sweat and are buying smartphones that cost as much as and sometimes more than a laptop. This gives AT&T deep pockets. If they focused on just doing this and doing it well -- this business of connectivity is rock solid with a very high barrier to entry.
  2. Then there are dreamy services C-suite imagines who are bored by (1) or need exciting stories to tell their friends to impress. Here we have lost a hundred billion + -- I hope their desire to spin amazing tales is now satiated, and they find that their friends are adequately impressed by their MBA-powered business acumen.

The company is now focused on connectivity again. This should not be so hard to execute if they don't get distracted by another pie in the sky.

This is the funniest quote I’ve seen in five years reading this board.
“ T is pretty immune to these activity's. ”
These are the exact type of folks that believe in Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy.
The company operationally is not sustainable, we are bleeding cash, margins are razor thin, and we are constantly two steps behind our competition with technology. Ignorance like this is exactly what radiates from the C suite, why ? Because they are insulated by employment contract, the remainder of the front line employees are incredibly exposed, their families are incredibly exposed , and the future is at best, unsure.

T is pretty immune to these activity's. Their products are not like one time purchase items. Subscription services get little impact. Consumers continue with those when the money is tight.

Consumer Price Index...measures the average prices paid over time, month to month for goods and services...a.k.a. inflation!

The recession was here months ago. If this downward trend continues we will be in a depression by Christmas.

Public office doesn't really appeal to those who lack an adequate ego and occasional narcissistic tendencies
