If you’re frustrated by “woke” stuff, don’t blame HR— blame the old white dude managers who treated their departments like old boys clubs and only promoted people who were like them. This was happening at Dell a LOT, to the extent that I think there was at least one successful lawsuit.

ESG scores or woke points. The rise of this has coincided with this kind of stuff at lots of companies. That’s all it is.

The woke propaganda is calculated to prevent lawsuits and losing business with woken customers...nothing more, nothing less. It's just more fluff to post in press releases meanwhile the true skeletons remain buried.

If there was a wave of wokeness which embraced aged and experienced employees, all of the over 50 crowd that were laid off in 2020 would be actively pursued for rehire. Dell HR swings with the pendulum of whatever social anchor holds the momentum and the almighty dollar.

So, everything is great with your work except that you're spending precious 30 seconds every day on deleting emails about diversity that are irrelevant to you (let me guess - white male, right?)

You won't love your job when they lay you off. It is a state of mind. Quit complaining and go give high fives and be in the group photos to be posted on Linkdin as though they are all going to live forever.
