Tom Krause is going to lead the combination of Citrix and TIBCO -- presumably to help cut costs and improve profitability (his primary expertise while at Broadcom). More layoffs are therefore likely. He is known to view each business unit through the lens of a speadsheet (bean-counter). Private equity firms don't care about you or your future.

@BeBeliever, your leap of faith is not founded on the factual track record of Tom Krause prior cost-cutting while at Broadcom. Read the public reports of what he did to the CA and Symantec employees after he gained control -- Tom's approach won't be 'tactical or narrow' and so your trust is foolish and naive. You must be on the Citrix HR team
Any integration between two companies is going to find roles and functions that are duplicated and so layoffs will happen but more tactical and narrow. I'll give any new CEO the trust to do the right thing for the company and that means the employees until proven otherwise.
