Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Nobody is holding you hostage

Stop whining! Stop complaining! Nobody is holding you hostage. This is a job you can leave whenever you want. You should try it. You are not victims in this. You are doing a job you signed on to do. If you don't want to do it anymore for whatever reason you can just walk away. It really is that simple!

Generally open minded about the buyout, but a CEO from Broadcom does not instill confidence given their appalling record. Another kn--e in the back from the elt.

"Wonder what his secret is?" It's not a secret: he knows how to reduce costs quickly (headcount reduction) and then harvest as much cash (for shareholders) from long-time customers by raising prices over and over again.

He's a finance wizard that will optimize the Citrix/Tibco operations and reduce spending to the benefit of the Private Equity owners. Then the remaining assets will be sold. Mission accomplished. Again, it's not a secret playbook, it's common knowledge...

Jeez Tom is only 44 years old. Pretty impressive. Wonder what his secret is? Maybe he has some very good knowledge of VMware?

You are doing a job you signed on to do.

Are we really, though? A lot of us signed on, without knowing this ship was going to crash into an iceberg. To take U2’s advise, yes we can Walk On. But spare us the HR take that it’s all really our fault.

Tom Krause is going to lead the combination of Citrix and TIBCO -- presumably to help cut costs and improve profitability (his primary expertise while at Broadcom). More layoffs are therefore likely. He is known to view each business unit through the lens of a speadsheet (bean-counter). Private equity firms don't care about you or your future.

A key reason to leave now, read The Economist article "Why leveraged buy-outs are in trouble" and imagine how the Citrix leadership team will be pressured to further cut costs by the new owners. Private equity firms don't care about you or your future.

Leave Citrix, like the hundreds of employees that have already changed jobs in the last two years. You won't regret it. But you may regret that you didn't leave sooner... act now
