ISG is wide open and hiring...urgently...other divisions are not. That will tell you which areas are most important right now.

Are they global? Or replacement for senior talent ?

Internal hiring is tentatively scheduled to resume on August 1; should know more by the end of this week or Monday at the latest. External hiring is paused indefinitely except for Telecom Solutions, ISG Growth areas, University Relations, and countries with legal and statutory requirements.

Dont think its going to be a permanent thing but a lot of people are nervous.Think it cuts may happen in the Autumn.A lot of job crossover.

i dont think thats correct, i think there are exceptions to the hiring freeze and some groups can even hire externally

None, Executives are currently reviewing costs.
Therefore any high cost division will be scrutinized and ways to cut that cost will be implemented.

I got a call from a recruiter today to tell me the position I was on the final interview for this Friday was frozen for the foreseeable future. I would be an external hire.

I heard the freeze is still ongoing (indefinitely) except in a few specific areas and that internal hiring is now frozen as well.

Hey now I was just rehired after 2nd years I had a nice severance break and now back to the grind 😉😉

At least you are returning rested and fresh. Don't push yourself too much. If they let you go 2nd time - so be it, don't sweat it. If I were you I would work on my farm in my free time - raise chicken and vegetables ..

Dell uses Excel Spreadsheet to boot people out with bloated levels of MBA's who only knows how to create pivot tables. At least they can find themselves somewhere in the org.

What is pivot table?

If people want to leave, let them go. Stop rehiring them 2 years later.

A communication will go out today advising that the external pause is extended and indefinite. Internal hiring is now on pause until August 1. There are some exceptions, but jobs will be unposted within the next 24 hours. No mention of a WFR, yet.

Unfortunately they do not know what they are doing.
The company is run by spreadsheet management, every decision is based on cost every minute detail of how much cost is the determining factor in every decision that is made.Excruciating to work under cost scrutiny for everything that the job entails is mind numbing.
If the executives are trying to determine what to do next you can bet that cost cutting is the number one top item on their list. And with Dell cost cutting usually means peoples jobs are going to be impacted either they are phasing out people roles as they do not fit what they quarterly say is the companies business direction as they inform that your role does fit the current business directive.
Dell is one of the most misguided delusional cheapest companies that exists.

It was supposed to end, but I don't think it did. I'm not sure they know what they're doing. Perhaps layoffs are looming.

So, I am confused. Is the new hire freeze over as of July 11? Has it ben extended? Does anyone even really know? I am supposedly waiting to be hired as soon as they open it back up. Very frustrating.

@kep+1hFNbxri if Dell wont pay decent salaries to staff already employed what makes you think they will pay new talent?
At this rate they will have to try attract new talent as they will have no staff left.

I am hearing that from August DELL will be on hiring spree - it needs high quality engineers, salesmen, managers , you name it. And it is willing to pay huge salaries and benefits for those who are deemed skilled and capable. So excited to be at DELL!

Is all job movement frozen confirmed or just rumour ?

by
| | Reply
Post ID: @srq+1hFNbxri

All job movement frozen they are evaluating all costs more than likely trying to determine why next to do since they pretty much have carved out what they could sell off with the biggest portion going out with vmWare.
Not much left to sell off and make the books appear much better than what the company is actually doing.
Dells playbook is always cut costs by reducing the workforce.
Perhaps they will sell off more to HCL as they did with SRM and Data Protection divisions.

What about internals or is that frozen now too

by

Post ID: @ohg+1hFNbxri

It is extended as The brass review their spreadsheet management strategies, and determine the way to glean more money .More than likely reductio in workforce.
