I gave my 2 weeks notice Friday. Didn’t say where I am going (I am going to another insurance company). That being said, I plan on doing nothing for the next 2 weeks. I am going to just watch movies all day. So excited for the next 2 weeks!!!!

This is not fair. We work hard and you are having it easy.
On the other hand, maybe that's you bye bye package, so take it.
Your anger is warranted, it should be directed at the proper source. It's easy to blame the employee who quits, because you feel they are leaving all that work for someone else. The problem with that is that you have to look at what the company is doing to its employees, and why they keep quitting as often as they are. This company has done it to its self, and that is where the blame lies. If you overwork you employees to the point of burnout, the human body eventually shuts down. That's not the person's fault, that is Allstate's fault.
I work in a group of what used to be 11. First, two people left about 1 month apart. 2 people transferred over to fill their spots. Another left 3 months later. 1 left 1 month after that, then 2 months later another. We transferred another person over to fill 1 position. That person lasted 4 months before applying and transferring to another position. 1 left with that person to go to the same position. Then we hired 1, and 2 weeks later another left. Then 3 weeks later another left. This was a team that, prior to 2020, had almost never seen any turnover because it was "the claims job" everyone wanted to retire from. Double the claims volume, and the constant changing processes, as well as bad management were the reasons that every one of those people left. If they did nothing their last two weeks, I wouldn't blame them for a second. I'm on my way out too, and will have no regrets.
I bet your new company can't wait for you to start. Neither can I. Get out you lazy a-s..sick of people like you in society.
Congratulations! Allstate laid off so many claims adjusters and is desperate to hire them all back . This isn’t your problem . Enjoy the next 2 weeks. Before transformative growth staffing was a little bit better.
OP, enjoy the 2 weeks. You did the right thing. It takes a while to shake how bad Allstate treated you once you start your new job. But, you won’t regret leaving. Bravo.
Employees leave companies all the time. Everyone should do what’s best for them. It just seems like Allstate employees who decide to leave handle it like high school drama queens. Just move on to something different. I wish all of you nothing but good luck in the future. But please know you aren’t the only people who change jobs. The constant whining is mind numbing.
I hope the negative commenters here going after the OP realize this is Allstate wants you to do. Tear each other down while it’s really the company that’s creating this horrible situation that’s going to get worse before it gets worse. Seriously look at the bigger picture.
The reason OP is feeling this way, is a direct result of the root cause problem : Allstate. It’s management it’s ridiculous measures it’s lack of focus on the people. Workers customers the real people. OP has had it They can’t take anymore of this brain sucking organization. Two weeks of sitting on their a-s isn’t going to do anything for or against Allstate, but it may just give OP the chance to reevaluate what Allstate has done to them. And now they can break free of the chains of Allstate. Allstate has not been a good place to work as evidenced by this post.
OP is a good example of what is wrong. Probably feels fine cheating on taxes, running red lights, driving while intoxicated and cheating on tests.
Good job not telling allstate where your going so you can work the two weeks!
You should be really proud that you are leaving customers hanging. I’m certain your new company will want you to do the same there. People like you simply don’t belong in a customer facing position. But good luck to you and I can’t wait until your two weeks is up so we can get someone in there that wants to work for their pay.
I worked in repped claims before I left. I had 15, really, 15 demands due in 10 days or less! No help coming. I tried my best to get them done as it would have been very obvious if I ignored them. I don’t see how I could have just coasted without burning bridges.
That’s great you’ll be doing nothing and being so excited about it, something very impressive to share with your fellow sufferers. The least you could do is the most you are able to until you’re gone in order to show you have the slightest concern about the people you’ll otherwise be leaving a mess for. Great character you have, so it’s no loss to the people here who have integrity and work hard. You won’t be punishing Allstate, which obviously deserves it, you’ll be punishing human beings who are trying to pay bills so I hope you consider that for a while before being as slimy as this company is. If not, you’re exactly like the sociopaths running this clown show.
Hope the new job doesn't get rescinded since many companies have hiring freeze or be the first one to get laid off when recession hits.
Many folks are having their jobs rescinded so you should have given the notice only one or two days in advance once you are absolutely sure the new company gives you a time and a person you'll be meeting during the first day as well as the agenda for the first day. You should tell them to email it to you so you have something in writing for yourself.
I know I sound negative by telling you this, but that's what's been happening these days. I never heard about a job getting rescinded in all my 25+ years of working as a professional, but this is what I'm hearing more and more often these days.
Good Luck!
