Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

It's hard to understand why some are still willing to join

We keep getting new employees all the time. I thought it was well known within and outside of Xerox that this is where you go if you want your career to die. I can't see any advantages to joining at this point. The pay is certainly not a draw, nor are the benefits. Are people really that desperate?

What is so hard to understand? We have plenty of sales reps making over 100K in their first year. Sounds like you must have a lower level job.

“Xerox is a perfectly fine company if the job & location meet your short term needs.” Example: Guatemala!
LOL! These pro xerox arguments fall face flat with the push of a finger.

Unless you are old (like me) nobody goes to a company with the expectation to be there for their entire careers. Maybe they plan on a 1 year stint, or 2. Xerox is a perfectly fine company if the job & location meet your short term needs.

There is no "career death" by working at Xerox. Hiring managers outside of Xerox care more about your experience and knowledge than the actual company you are working for.

If you get a job offer from Xerox, and the work is something you want to do and it helps build up experience for another company that you might not have enough experience at currently to get, then by all means take it.
