Thread regarding Ford layoffs

How much talent is still left at Ford?

It’s scary to say the least how easily Ford gave up on some very knowledgeable, experienced and good working folks. On the other hand ,I don’t see the newly hired employees bringing that much value to the table.
How is Ford standing in terms of knowledgeable and talented employees, in comparison to what we had 10 years ago?

That is true. JF has said a number of times now that "Ford needs the right talent" meaning it currently does not have it. Luckily that also means anyone in management isn't as well since they just hired all the "non-talent" into the company.

I think many will leave sooner or later. Ford will never compensate for the inflation wave we just saw. They shrunk bonuses. They eliminated OT pay almost everywhere. They expanded the "high demand" salary grade across more employees to address the wage gap between Ford and other industry but at the same time actually did NOT raise salaries nor bonuses for these employees.

With that, Ford is playing really d-mb games I have to say. Don't be afraid to go and try something new elsewhere. F will lay you off in the blink of an eye when sh-t hits the fan. Your relationship with the company is solely transactional.

We have a lot of LL's children so we have an abundance of talent left.

Certainly is an interesting cycle seeing new employees come in with ideas that may improve things, just to be incrementally crushed by beaurocracy. Then they just go to being a middle of the road employee or leave to go somewhere else where they can make a tangible impact. Always think of the cr--s in a bucket analogy and seems that's where we are these days.

None. Farley told us we don’t have the “right” skills.
