Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Do you smell what MCBU is cooking?

Something smells funny around MCBU and it’s not the grilled cat fish coming out of KE million dollar galley’s. With DM at the helm, Wells leadership is literally force feeding garbage down the throats of field personnel by paying millions of dollars for food that nobody wants. Given the program is so unpopular with employees one might ask why leadership would go from paying $350K a year in per diem to $3mil a quarter for subpar cafeteria food. But when ever the topic does come up it is quickly redirected by one of KE yes men to a sexier topic, like how many bunk beds they are going to try to cram in a closet size room to offset the cost of the new galleys they are having built.
With drilling performance in the fryer, it seems like someone in leadership figures they better grab all they can before people start paying attention. If they were really concerned about $/ft they would cutting cost not adding to it exponentially.

We could install toilet sets at the GC booths and capture greenhouse gasses from diners. Feed them plenty of cabbage and onions at the buffet.

“Um, I thought this was a job, not a paid holiday.”

A paid holiday would be more likely to have catered food. The OP is highlighting the fact that catering is unpopular and it would be better to go back to a grocery budget… especially since its SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper.

If we were lucky the Golden Corral will merge with Chevron and we would have the best of both worlds. Could you imagine Chevron corner stores containing a mini Golden Corral? Golden Corral express with steaks, bacon and all the fixings? We would grow so much at that point!

The GC Military Appreciation free meal is a great bargain. And they don’t really check, so it is on the honor system if you say you served. Wink wink.

Golden Corral quality is all over the place from store to store and from day to day. You can get a great meal one day and be appalled the next.

The Golden Corral has somewhat okay quality on an average day because they need to compete with other dine-in alternatives. They won’t go overboard or under. But if Chevron gives any Golden Corral a contract to feed its people, I guarantee you they quality of the food will go down from where it’s now. It’s like anything in a capitalist economy. Fixed contract prices and increased demand or supply will lead to lesser quality.

When it comes to those two especially KE, chevron has lost touch with the field (reality) and what it takes to make money. Performance has been manipulated to tell whatever story they want to paint. It’s all politics, flavor of day and a strange insane affinity to continue utilizing poor performing service providers and extravagant. initiatives like the galleys. Crazy if it’s your money where would you spend it? There is no “factory mode” At MCBU - a crock of Sheet.

When Working at MCBU, drilling supervisor failed to know how much a wellhead cost or how much is spent converting the rigs to gas “clean” gens. So much cr-p on the rigs, they don’t even take inventory of what the have and how much. They didn’t know - only because their leaders didn’t ask and frankly don’t care. One of the worst business model I’ve seen…

If someone’s brother owned Golden Corral it would have already happened. There is no doubt KE or one of his cronies are getting something out of the deal. It’s just how it’s done in West Texas.

I go to Golden Corral to fill my plate up with Bacon! The steaks are awesome as well! All good quality in my book. I really think all of Chevron's facilities should go to Golden Corral! Whoever commented below is on to something!

Pretty sure cotton get the food out of the trash cans at Golden Corral so it’s almost the same thing.

I have been hoping the contract with The Golden Corral would go through and we would have that instead of the current situation. The bacon is to die for!

Is KE a subsidiary of ESS (Eat S--t or Starve)? An army marches on its stomach is an axiom that all leaders should remember. You can't expect good work and moral from bad facilities.
