Should we be worried about tomorrow?

How likely are we to see more layoffs tomorrow?

Allstate has forever been plagued with too much marginal at best talent. Entitlement mentality. Not the best, not the brightest, not the hardest working. But boy can they complain, snivel and whine with the best of them. Lets face it. The majority of these types who are still at Allstate because they have zero options otherwise. They aren't going to find comparable level or paying jobs anywhere else, and deep down, they know it. So they have little choice but to ride things out to the bitter end. And when they do get laid off, fired or whatever then they hope like he-l they put enough money away so they can "retire" at a tolerable enough level. Either that or plan on becoming a store associate at Walmart while dramatically reducing their lifestyle expenses.

Don’t know about you but plenty are dumping allstate. Way too pricey for subpar claims
If this is what is happening we will see plenty of layoff soon

The layoffs in 2020 were only a surprise to id--ts living in a cave. Like it or not, the company clearly laid out how and what they were doing and then executed the plan. If they don’t change, they are stuck with a bunch of folks who feel entitled to receiving a paycheck for school b par work. We all don’t have to agree with how it is going down, but change is inevitable

Reading this page makes me want to gauge my eyes out. What an awful company. Glad I came here after interviewing for a claims job. :-)

It's looking more like July or August for most impacted areas.

You will never really know until it happens. They want you there until they don’t and they will do anything now to keep labor silenced and at bay from questioning managements actions. Saying things like the Calvary is coming in hiring more, we are setting up special teams to take on all these extra claims, we have a special email to use for this or that, staffed by experts, .anything to make it look like they are managing the crisis. It’s managed chaos. You are on a need to know basis. You will not be told much about the special teams or where they are located. You should not trust your direct managers. The poor things are in the same boat and are trying to keep everyone calm so you can get the tasks at hand done. Just go blindly along and play the game until the other shoe drops. They will morph and morph until the expenses are significantly reduced yet again. They became very bloodthirsty for good stock price and cheap cheap labor. It’s all part of the transformation to get growth. Remember March of 2020? Everything was fine and they showed deep concern for labor. Then, they decided to make enormous changes that laid off thousands at Thanksgiving in the middle of a pandemic and record profits. Trust is earned. Don’t believe anything until Wilson gets the boot.
