Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Please read statements by Krause in this article

https://www.bankinfosecurity.com/broadcom-beefs-up-security-business-61b-vmware-buy-a-19142

Read the last sentence by Krause...
Does it mean that Broadcom will actually invest in sales and marketing?
Also by 'modern applications" what does he mean? SD-WAN/SASE type and some security applications?

Third, looks like Broadcom will be open to keeping some VMware channels... but don't know if these channels only in the context of the legacy products like vSphere, vSAN, vCenter or the 'newer' applications like EUC, SASE, security?

Yes all of the vmware employees are thinking of that. The spin-offs won't be done right away .. but surely within 6 months to a year after close. Who know they might be shopping around starting now. In that case maybe the spinoffs will coincide with the closing.

I wouldn’t consider any forward looking statements with respect to keeping jobs. Everyone’s job irrespective of the product line is at stake . They may spin off some products to other companies . Lot of uncertainty going forward . Prepare now Apply Now, Accept now don’t wait

Do not believe anything that either Broadcom or VMware executives tell you at this time. They will only tell you what you want to hear until the D-day hits. Just prepare. There will be a ruthless cut. There is no way to generate that kind of revenue without layoffs.
