Thread regarding Ford layoffs

For those that were laid off over the last several years

I assume that there was not an option to come back (meaning your ties with Ford are severed)? Reason I am asking is because I have seen multiple posts for those close to retirement who are worried about getting laid off. If you were, is there an opportunity to go somewhere else and then come back once rehiring begins (like it always has regarding the cyclical nature of the automotive industry)?

I know of several SRD people who were asked to come back as agency for major projects that did not have the expertise available. Everyone of them said no. I do not know the reasons why.

I supposed the Only option is to come back as agency but even then they do a background check and why would you do that for a company that got rid of you?

Yes, if you went out on a package you had to sign to never return to Ford. VSSP or any others of recent years. To me, you let go a senior employees with much training and experience then tell them we don't need you. Great. So how that's working for you? Are those projects getting done on time and under budget?

Lots of “Never Ford” families created from SRD and thousands more to come in the near future.

Who would want to come back to this $hit show after being forced out? I would go out of my way to trash Ford and it's products if this happened.
