Block scheduling is good. And it works. In a perfect world. Part timers are to fill in between 12:30pm - 3pm. But a perfect world does not exist and it creates major issues. The people making these decisions are young college grads newly recruited by home office, But they have no in club experience, smh,

The block schedule is ridiculous. We have no mid shift associates on the floor. So what happens? We have to tell members to either come in b/t open and 12:30 PM if they are picking up a large item in receiving. Or we have to tell them to come after 3:30 pm when the night people get on the floor. Management does not know how to schedule even with the block schedule. Every morning when I get in at 10:00 am, same old thing, one cashier. There are days I spend more time being a cashier than working my area. We have so many people out on LOA it is ridiculous.

Works great! You can plan anything months ahead...you can request weekend if needed, if you get rejected, call out! 👍👍👍

Block schedules were made because mgrs couldn't figure out how to fill a 16 hour day with workers. Yep, That sums it up in a nutshell. I diots

Block scheduling is better. The managers know what shifts need to be filled and can hire accordingly. If corporate would get rid of the bad managers that dont do their jobs everything would be fine. Bad managers are the reason the turnover is so high.

I love my blocked schedule. Same days off and scheduled hours allow for planning

It doesn't work for the TL either. Never have the same days off to plan anything

It works fine when the building is staffed appropriately which it never is, and when coach’s follow it correctly and don’t make a bunch of changes and try to manipulate the scheduler. Having enough part timers to fill in the gaps is key, but rarely works out like that.
