From a scale of 0 - 5, 5 being the highest, rate your supervisor manager, their position, and a short explanation of why they deserve the rating. I'll start - DM - wells ops manager - 2 - would have received a 0 from me but he is good with numbers. Poor engineer and manager brings the ranking down. Known by some as Kimi's clown.

Technical managers have been absolute garbage the last 3 years or so. Which translates to the significant retention issues in locations with real job markets. "Entry level management" is what they call it, more like "play pretend management". What a joke.
JS now Wells Lead sponsor. No people skills and referred to as a crook.
AU HR Mgr CW - 0. Worst ever!
Best manager in GOM was surrounded by criminals, never had a chance. But he took care of the workers, left in 2015 I think.
Most supes and mgrs are great at extracting information from others, sprinkle in a few buzz words, and have an admin polish it off in a presentation...try asking for more details and they'll nominate you to lead the effort
Most supervisors have no idea what they're doing they rely on their direct reports
I like rating by odors! And peee-uuuuu there have been some real stinkers!!!
There are plenty of supervisor questions on the annual employee survey.
All the 5s that could left with voluntary packages. They left because they cared about their people and were not frightened to call BS. Best Manager of people I ever saw left MCBU and company voluntarily in 2018 because he was squeezed
Been around a while. Very clear distinction - my managers who were hired in from other companies were 4-5, understood the business, protected their staff from Chevron nonsense, and represented our interests well in PDCs. Chevron 'lifers' and 'just passing through' high pots 1-2, fumbled thru the job and only represented their own interests.
I have been fortunate to have supportive supervisors and supportive management throughout my career at Chevron. I have no complaints. I realize that I am lucky.
Had some 5s, had some 0s, all part of a career. The 5s knew how to manage people, the 0s, it was all about them.
I rate this thread a 1. Not good at all, but you get a point for trying to be funny.
