Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Your Mental Health must be your priority!

It seems it takes a tragedy to pull you back to what really matters. During our Inventory Dollar Difference day, a long-term back-room associate had fainted. It was later determined she had a brain aneurysm due to stress. At times she was the only associate running the back room as others had left the club and not replaced. There was pressure on completing all tasks and assist with driving fork-lifts for the merchandisers and inventory prep team. Wearing her watch, it was clear her blood pressure jumped up and stayed up while at work. She had requested to step down to a merchandiser position but no reaction because she could not be replaced. Instead of leaving the club, she continued to pour all her energy to her position. Please take care of yourselves and let our voices be heard. She is expected to make a full recovery with time. Btw...we had a very bad inventory. Now classified as high shrink club. Management pointing fingers at each other and not making resolutions as to how to recover. Bring back Audit, PTC/accounting (should be combined), claims. If we don't improve, I could see the Clubs closing. Members and associates are not happy.

We are a low volume club but still have 3+ backroom associates on the AM side. I put the + because we have a floor person we flex in when needed. Then on my side (PM) we have one, but me and the other lead flex in when needed. Company needs to fix this asap.

Surprised this doesn't happen more frequently.

I too was the only one in the backroom going all the way back to 2018. After my second heart attack I had to quit or else I would be dead today. Those reading this from my club know who this is.

I've felt the same way every since they removed the polish dogs from the cafe.

I hope your associate makes a full recovery and gets to leave the backroom … as a backroom associate I know how stressful it is back there. I can’t imagine being the only one back there . Shame on your entire management at that club. This needs to be brought to home offices attention … not that they care, but if u threaten going to the media maybe they will finally realize their bad decisions have consequences

That's truly scary and being a backroom associate is a high stress job. I cannot imagine being the ONLY one. I hope she makes a quick recovery and I am sorry it happened.
