This needs to be said. Because it will never change until it is exposed. But the good ol' boy network is alive and well at Ford.
Look at the recent action. Widespread reports of LL4s using this workforce reduction as an excuse to settle old scores. If you look at the make-up of the leaders you can understand why. Very few female leaders above LL5. Almost no minorities. So couple the preferential promotions with the biased separations, and you can see that the good ol' boy network is still firmly entrenched at Ford.
They give lip-service to DEI, but then their hiring and firing practices show their true nature. Where is the investigative reporting on all of this? Where is Freep to show how deep this preferential vs. biased network goes? Why is no one pointing it out and holding Ford's feet to the fire? Workforce reductions should not be about settling old scores because someone had the audacity to question a manager at some point in the past!
They tried to hide it well this time by not only letting go of longtime, pension eligible employees, but also younger, highly performant employees too. But the truth is still out there, and pretty obvious when you look at it.
