Is JP still with Follett?
It wasn't my regional manager but wouldn't have cared if it was. My RM comes to the store, rarely, doesn't respond to my business contacts emails in any timely fashion, and when she does come to my store she is on her phone with other stores or laptop doing conf. calls the entire time. Shows up around 11, gone by 3, has lunch with me for an hour-which is an hour longer than I normally take, and we talk about life in general. Waste of my time, that's for sure.
It’s Phase 1. More to come. Certain stores where we don’t care if they keep us or not, will not have an RM that visits campus, only that they report to for oversight. Those campuses will be given an offer to pay us a management fee (or something similar) or we walk away. Regional Manager’s will be given high profile/priority accounts and the second tier stores will see the RM even less frequently than they have been. It’s a phased rollout, the waters are being tested with this before it goes to the field as a whole.
It was only 3 RMs total so not sure how good they were. I’ve heard from store managers from one of the regions in the Midwest and it appears at least one of them was a good leader but who knows. Knowing Follett, someone up top didn’t care for them and now they are gone. Same s*it, different day. Best wishes on their next gig.
