Please do a direct comparison of his education, corporate positions held, patents awarded, successful businesses started, number of trips to outer space, and personal wealth, vs that of Musk.
Let CarCar know where he has gaps to fill.

You make it sound like Farley is a democrat. Nailed it if that was your intention.
Farley - whine, moan, complain -
- govt needs to build battery and chip plants,
- govt needs to build charging infrastructure,
- govt needs to provide subsidies for Ford vehicles,
- Ford workers are bad and we need to lay them off and hire better ones
Elon
- build GigaFactory to produce batteries, do it in a repeatable manner so he can quickly expand
- build a charging infrastructure for Tesla vehicles. And functioning software to locate the charging stations
- build vehicles people want
- hire and retain the best employees, praise and encourage them publicly
Hmmmm which leader would you back with your own money?
The one that consistently produces and is a positive influence, or the whiner selling air with his hand in your pocket?
It is obvious that Farley's biggest goal is to be liked by Musk. I mean, the guy actually tweeted "respect" to Musk like he's some 13 year old. That was just beyond cringey. The best part is Musk probably doesn't even know who Farley is.
The most frustrating thing is that he is getting credit for things that his predecessors had already set in motion. Mach-E, Lightning, Bronco, Bronco Sport, Maverick....all years in the making. And investors are starting to catch up to that as reflected in our stock price.

JF I still wander what has this guy accomplished? EM has PayPal / Space X / Tesla. If you get a chance watch the video on landing a rocket on a platform at sea. That is an accomplishment.
Our so-called car guy is no way a car guy like a Bob Lutz or Iacocca. He is a head bobber or YES MAN. Legend in his own mind. Since he took over marketing our market share has shrunk. In fact, we left markets to our competition. Way to go JF and BF.

Everytime Farley opens his mouth he.mentions Tesla in some fashion or another. At this point I think he's hoping to get some attention and free press from Elon Musk saying something back about Ford. Outside of the auto industry, not a single person can tell you who Farely is, but Elon Musk is an everyday name everywhere and is his own brand. Lightning sales will most likely slump after the intial hype and when Cybertruck comes out. People buying Teslas are buying Teslas for a status symbol, because they favor Elon Musk, because it is cool and trendy, being electric has little to do with it, it's just for bragging rights and attention. Think of Tesla like Apple products, people want everyone to know they have them and they've bought into the environment. Ford is like the Nokia flip phone that is old, rugged, gets the job done, that's about it. Ford is losing sight of even making reliable, quality vehicles looking at the number of recalls and the types of recalls. Farley is living in fantasy land to think he's on the same playing field as Musk and it's an embarrassment everytime he opens his mouth.
The electro F150 isn't saving squat! First, they are building 15k this year. 40k next year. Meantime, the REAL F150 well sell 800k-900k/year!!!
Funny you mention comfortable retirement while defending Chris' cousin. Who could retire tomorrow and live better than every grunt at Ford put together. He doesn't care about saving squat.

this is an important point. EM just burned > $40B to buy twitter as like a side gig. pocket change from his real work of spacecraft and autos & secret stuff we dont know about. dannng! having said that, electro f150 is going to rock. no doubt. elon wants to improve the world... but the goal of a lot of ford employees is comfortable retirement, no more no less. to h3ll with the world as long as i got mine. prove me wrong. the electro f150 boys n girls, tho... they are kickin it. kudos where it is earned!
