Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Is Salary UAW safe? I have a sibling in Design/Engineer that I am concerned about. He’s been moved to a brand new group in the last 6 months.

I seem to remember that there was a group of Body ( I think) designers that were salaried UAW (U Ain't Workin') down in Dearborn someplace.

At General Dynamics Land Systems in Sterling Heights, the designers were/are salaried UAW represented employees. The absolute worst combination ever conceived. It was a hold over from when Chrysler had Chrysler Defense and passed it along to General Dynamics. It was hilarious that Chrysler made promotional offers to all the monkeyd*cks to transfer to defense right before they sold the division to General Dynamics. Once it was announced, the transfer door back to the parent company was slammed shut.

GM designers and engineers are salary corporate.
Stellantis designers are salary UAW. Engineers are salary corporate.
Can't speak for Ford.

Seriously, how immature. Really rude to call people names without a simple google search. Even GM has salaried UAW Technical positions and possibly still Chrysler (Stellantis). It’s a small group of employees, but they still exist. SMH!

UAWs are not salaried. Only hourly. There is no such thing as a salaried UAW at Ford.
