I could live with earning less than the industry standard, I could even live with losing some of the benefits, but what I can't live with is this work culture. It is both cliquish and depressing. There are people who are part of the 'club' who will get ahead no matter what they do (or don't do), and the rest of us who do all the work but are stuck and are fully aware we're stuck. This is the main reason why I've started looking for a new job and will leave the moment I find anything, even if it pays less.
