Audits

Why why why did home office get rid of the audit team. I am a merch lead, who does not have time to do all these audits, do resets and stock . Some of these audits are huge and take more than one person to help out to count, especially clothing — what a nightmare ! My club has inventory in less than 2 weeks and we can’t keep up with audits. They are bad enough during the year to try to get them all done with just the mandatories and extra audits they want done and do our other responsibilities . We need the audit team back …

Lie, as I do. False information. I don't care.

They did it to save on payroll only. Since we were supposed to do test scanning weekly, they thought it would be a great idea to have every one count stuff too. But the problem they never thought through was that 90 percent of the derelicts they hired can't count past 10 without taking off their shoes and socks.

Our club in Colorado still has a dedicated Audit person.
It's one of the morning Merchandise leads that couldn't Merchandise to save her life.
When Audit team was dissolved, this woman was given the Merch lead position out of pity, then the CM kept her doing audits just as if the Audit team never dissolved.
Everyone just pretends like this is normal here at this club.

Don’t need a audit team. It works so muck better with everybody in the club adjusting the on hands 🤣🤣🤣. My favorite is when half a dc truck gets unloaded and someone thinks the count is off and charge’s it lol.

Audits. What a joke now. Count what you can and forget the rest. Don't know where it is? Who cares. I don't. I'll put whatever I want on the audit sheet.

This would actually change if more people made a big deal about it to shareholders. Most clubs used to be at or under .20% to sales for shrink and are now double that or more. It would more than pay for associates back in those positions and extra to the bottom line.

Home office will never admit they made a mistake getting rid of the audit team. PTC or combining claims and receiving .. it was their way to get rid of some long term associates . Our backroom is an absolute disaster as is any audits being done in our club . They just count what they can to show they did the audit and I’m sure our inventory will be a disaster as well

3 things that the company should never gotten rid of: Audit team, PTC, and combining claims into receiving (Backroom). Bo-m, hands down biggest mistakes. Zero controls in clubs. Zero.

they got rid of audit so they could have more control over inventory numbers. They can pull things out of a club's inventory without anyone noticing.
Good audit leads were able to track & find the cause of some shrink.
High shrink items like li---r where audited every month. How often are they audited now?
Home office can change your on hands at any time & you won't catch it. It will just show up on the audit as a shortage. Higher shrink will impact people's bonus at club level.
In reality, the company isn't losing money or merchandise. they're just somewhat controlling the amount of bonus that gets paid out.
Also, most clubs audit teams were made up of long time associates. What better way to move long timers out the door than to eliminate their job
