From the WSJ - Mattel has held talks with private-equity firms about a potential sale, people familiar with the matter said, just a few months after the famed toy company declared its corporate turnaround complete.
Mattel has held informal talks with firms including Apollo Global Management Inc. APO -0.45% and L Catterton, the people said. The talks are at an early stage and may not result in a deal.
Is this the next chapter? Buy outs for the big guys. Then ruled by non-toy management company. Profit over product.

toys is nowhere near the industry it used to be at retail. mattel’s offerings are lucky to get 2 feet in a planogram r because the stuff is weak. they can’t even compete with hasbro with their online offerings.
Private equity companies are the house flippers of the corporate world. They'll make mattel seem all sparkly new and profitable then sell it. Expect Isaac to be your new boss at some point.
Golden parachutes for the top floor?
I've worked for a private equity acquisition before. It wasn't pretty when they were done ✂️✂️✂️
Let’s hope it’s L Chatterton, they own Peloton. And have a great job managing that.
