Anyone know if one can take the SIRP and submit for retirement at the same time?

Yes, I am being packaged out, too on 4/29. Was going through the SIRP packet, and the severance is paid lump sum (minus taxes) and then you pay for you continuing medical benefits monthly I your own dime at the same rate it was taken out of your check.

Since I am also eligible for the retirement HSA that Ford will fund providing you get your insurance through the Via marketplace, I wondering if that might be better, since I think the retirement HSA pay like 12,000 per year for spouse and child.

For all of you inhumane id--ts who 'Bleed Ford blue' just watch them sweep your blood out the door behind you! How much does it take for you to GET IT! They don't give damn about you, your family, your health, your mental well-being...nothing! They don't care about you. Buch of paranoid, slithering cronies looking after each other as they have done for years, milking the company dry with incompetence. Get out on your terms, so they won't have a celebration when they push you out of the door! Run, don't walk to the next company!!

Received a call from my agency this morning saying that my contract with Ford ends today!
I had been feeling side-lined in my team for quite some time now, with almost no major project to work on since the last few months (courtesy of repeated re-orgs, or so I was led to believe!), and it all makes sense now. To be honest, this was one of the outcomes that I had anticipated too, and had been using some of my free time to up-skill and hatch a back-up plan!
It was certainly painful to see a blunt response from my manager to my message thanking them for the tenure, at which point all my sorrow, anger and shock transformed into plain indifference. I agree that I have not made million dollar contributions on my job, but still a simple “Thank You” would have been comforting at this point. But that’s ok, it’s unfair to expect life to be fair at all times, the best thing to do right now is to hunt for a new job with more vigor!
My heart goes out to all of us here, and hope we land a job very soon! And my heart goes out to ex-colleagues at Ford, hope things change and you don’t have to deal with the stress of job security while building cars! Farewell could have been more humane, but still, thank you!

Another sleazy Ford PR move. Cover up news of firing people with the launch of the Lightning truck.

It seems they are going after older people again. That is not cool. I survived this one, but we know they will cut next quarter again- so who really knows if we are safe.

4000 views in 9 hours. That makes me feel good.
Anyhow, people should work more and spend less time on sites that undermine management power and control over information. Please do not downvote me as I am just sarcastic. Go Ford.

@jka spot on
Dear Wall Street : Look away from the 3.1 billion dollar quarterly loss; Look away from the previous quarters financial engineering that reported quarterly profits; Look instead at all the heads we are cutting and how many jobs we are off-shoring.

I’m from the Palo Alto R&A and was let go despite stellar PRs every year and I was not close to retirement. I have heard of a few others tapped on the shoulder as well with more to come. Very upsetting and no way to treat hard working employees who have Ford their blood, sweat, and tears. Good luck everyone

Yeah, I was told a bit ago my last day was this Friday.

Wanted to reach out and see if anyone that was told already if their company PC is acting weird - I can't print out anything if it has my Ford email attached to it in someway, but I can forward it to another email. Just weird.....what are they afraid of?

I will break confidentiality to tell you what was said in the IP/Model e Town Hall:

BLAH BLAH. Corporate psycho babble BS. More blah blah. Doug quoting from some leadership book he just read. Blah blah blah.

Neither Hau nor Doug mentioned our impending 1st quarter financial release. I'd bet this has as much to do with the timing than any of the lies they told.

Will be interesting to find out what, if anything, of substance is communicated in the 4 p.m. meeting today for Ford salaried employees. I'm not invited because I'm agency. I still have my job... for now.

Layoffs the day that 1st quarter financials to be released. I saw an EPS of 34 cents. My guess? Less than 15 cents EPS.

Then they can tell shareholders, but hey we just cut our workforce so the 2nd quarter will be better. SMH

This is what we are seeing in PD. High 4th quarter salary GSRs who normally have excellent PRs being tapped. Moral has never been lower.

The quarterly allows Ford to avoid layoffs hitting the news, and avoid WARN act.
The stated goal is quarterly layoffs each under 500 salaried workers.
The layoff targets are those with highest cost - pension, health care, salary.
The quarterly reviews will be adjusted downwardly for the targets to provide legal shield;
the layoffs are not correlated to poor job performance. A higher percentage of stellar performers will be laid off as they inevitably have the highest salary.

Best wishes to those laid off in their future endeavors, may you find a company that appreciates and rewards your talent / enjoy your retirement.

Just heard about two non-pension eligible employees let go. Apparently, the company is trying to cover their tracks better than they did last time. With the losses of talent over the last few months, I find it hard to believe the company can afford this and keep the same priorities. Something has to give.

Just had my Quarterly Review. Your "People Leader" will submit your performance rating after the review. I also heard force rankings are back. In effect Ford is going back to Jack Nassar's ABC model, where 10% of the bottom performers "C" will be let go.

So now moving forward all employees will be looking at the short term (3 months). Sc--w the long term health of the company.

Great for Ford Moral, NOT!

Model E guy here - yup, got the tap on the shoulder today. Guess I was one of those 'supplemental employees' mentioned in the email earlier today. Funny thing is that I reached out to a former L6 in the same area/larger team to let him know (i really liked the guy and respected him, his decision making, and how he tried to always protect the team) via Web ex team, and he asked me to call him on his personal cell - turns out he was let go as well!

Last day is this Friday, the 29th. My current supervisor is being super cool and nice about it; she has already told me I don't need to work the rest of today and the last two days and is even helping me in other ways.

I thought I would be angry or sad, but I would not even describe it as being numb (which I am sure I am and it might hit me later), rather relieved to some extent, as I have game planned how I would leave for the last two to three years (I was actually thinking of applying for retirement earlier this year, but wife talked me out of it because the logic was if I did that and there were layoffs this year - which we all suspected - I'd lose out on the severance pay). The other funny thing in talking with my former L6, he also was thinking about retirement this year, too. The other tidbit he dropped is that they do seem to be going after retirement (i.e. pension eligible people) - he said he had to let go three people last year, all eligible for the pension.

On to plan the next part of my life. For any one else who gets the tap this week, remember when one door shuts, another one opens up somewhere else. Just keep things in perspective no matter how bad it gets, and also remember to help each other out.

Finally Ford HR and executive leaders are doing action to improve employee morale. About time.

NOT

Have they considered what today's layoffs are going to do for the rest of the workforce?
