Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Almost no one wants to work here

Some of our colleagues left a few months ago and ever since then we've been doing their work instead. At this point I am starting to lose hope that someone will come to replace them. Perhaps the problem is that no one wants to work here? Either that or the management thinks they shouldn't make replacements at all?

I the beginning it was fun and exciting working for WFT. Then the new management was of the belief that the old cowboy why of doing things did not work. Well we did not go broke under the cowboys. New management had a better way. File bankruptcy take their “golden parachute “ and run. Investors will blame it the cowboys. 38 years called it quits (No parachute just quit and retired). Glad my 401k was not in Weatherford stock…..

I still want to work here. The bonuses are great. Especially over the last few years.

Lasted one year then GTFO. But that was always part of my plan. Anybody with half a brain knows it’s not a long term commitment.

@AFC1903 no, wasn’t at the mighty failure that is BOD.

@Sur Extremely proud of £40k plus with the amount of actual hours put in and O/T fudged on weekends 😉. Accepted a great voluntary package and straight into a better job. Bonus was being able to run the side hustle during the day 👍🏻

@gadget you weren’t at BOD aberdeen perhaps?! Were you part of the coffee club ran by that big French tw-t, heard he got stuck up the weeble during a caffeine induced weekly meeting.

Why would anyone want to come work a role performed by multiple people only to be paid like one person?

It's hard to imagine having a long term career at any of the big service companies these days much less one that shed two-thirds of the workforce and has had one misstep after another for the last decade. Not surprising that people aren't knocking down the doors to come to work here.
