Forgive my ignorance about the subject but what I hear and read are two diametrically opposite claims about the job market these days.
On one hand people say that the job market is smoking hot. We hear stories about recruiters, basically stalking people that left tech companies, offering great salaries and great work conditions. We even have stories about the great resignation where people left companies in droves opening great work opportunities for people looking for jobs.
On the other hand we have information that the employment rates are at an all time high and even predictions that those rates could drastically drop in the following months.
So what is the truth? Are we really looking at a hot job market or are we just hearing that from people trying to make their departure from the company easier on them and are basically comforting themselves with that claim.

Ex-DXC. It’s pretty hot. I left back in early 2022 for a 46% increase, better benefits, and more collaborative less siloed work environment. If you keep current on your skills, have the education to back it up, and interview well it’s a no brainer.
I am ex-DXC. My new company (who pay me better, and treat me better) are having a hard time filling their open positions. That's not to say that everyone who applies is going to get hired. But in my professional memory, the tech job market is as hot now as it ever has been. Good luck out there.
Was looking to leave anyway for months, but got recruited unsolicited where I landed. And of course the pay is more walking in the door new. However, now I have to work to earn it.
Ask yourself this
Do you know any DXC leaver that didn't get a better paid job?
