AAFJ Report on Worst Insurance Companies

https://www.decof.com/documents/the-ten-worst-insurance-companies.pdf

A report by the American Association for Justice.Allstate is listed as #1 worst starting on page 4. I can’t say I am shocked, but it’s very sad to say I work for a company that behaves this way. The other day on a department meeting call, all leadership talked about was the current stock price and shareholders.

I am not in claims, so I cannot really speak to our claims practices. However, I can testify to one thing. I am on the business side and work with our rule manuals everyday. The language used in our product rule manuals is incredibly confusing. For example, sometimes I’ll look at a states auto rules and say to myself “what in the world does this even mean?”

It’s actually not ,the American Association for Justice is an independent research group doing a investigation regarding insurance practices. It has nothing to do with a plaintiff or even a law firm for that matter this is based solely on complaints. Although the document may have been written several years ago many of the practices and “Wilsons vision” is still valid today

That write up story is an old story issued 2007. It’s from plaintiffs side of view.

And y’all continue to choose to work there. Ball up, get off your lazy ar-e and either suck it up or move on. You have griping about the same stuff since the layoffs in 2020….18 months and counting.

Cult mentality at the top. Total COS bs embodied by leadership. It has grown like an ameba They have no intention of changing their philosophy no matter who or what it destroys. If you were around in the 90’s when it started, you know.

Tom Wilson - I was never told to lie by my supervisor but I was told NOT to write certain things in the claims file. Told that everything we write as a claims note is discoverable so choose words carefully. We are supposed to be transparent but not transparent.

” Unfortunately, that dedication to shareholders
has come at the expense of policyholders. The company
that publicly touts its “good hands” approach privately
instructs agents to employ a “boxing gloves” strategy
against its own policyholders.1 In the words of former
Allstate adjuster Jo Ann Katzman, “We were told to lie by
our supervisors—it’s tough to look at people and know you're Lying "
