I work in an area outside of claims and legal and found myself surprised at the horror stories in those areas posted about at this site. My experience in my department is much different. Morale is very good and my peers and I are very happy with our work volumes, work/life balance, and overall treatment by our leaders. Of course the pay raises are still far below what they should be considering how much Wilson, Shapiro, and the suits in Chicago are banking for as little as they contribute. Also our department was somewhat impacted by the 2020 reductions in force but most have since been hired back. But in my reading of many many posts on these forums it seems the vast majority of terrible treatment and experiences has been in the claims and legal areas. Most everyone I know not in those areas seem to be quite happy and content with their role and employment at Allstate. Interested to hear of other's experiences not in claims and legal to see if it is really just those areas experiencing the horrible conditions that are stated to be occurring or if my department and the departments that we work closely with are just in the lucky minority in terms of treatment and experience.

There is no greater poster child for insurance industry
greed than Allstate. According to CEO Thomas Wilson,
Allstate’s mission is clear: “our obligation is to earn a
return for our shareholders.” Unfortunately, that dedication to shareholders has come at a price. According to
investigations and documents Allstate was forced to
make public, the company systematically placed profits
over its own policyholders. The company that publicly
touts its “good hands” approach privately instructs
agents to employ a hardball “boxing gloves” strategy
against its own policyholders.

Your full of chit
I am in TA and it is not good, I have been at several other companies including an Allstate competitor. Trying to recruit for claims is the worst experience I have ever had, we don't pay well, we don't have any good leadership on our team and no one cares.
It is because claims and legal are the company. We are the client facing positions that handle all the company bs. Happy to have left to be honest. Every year I was there the company became a shittier place to work. Anyone with under 10 years in the company should look elsewhere. Its an employees market right now. Allstate looks good on a resume because it is fortune 100.
Most of our agents are a joke. Lazy and whine about things no one can control. I would imagine agents at most companies are the same. The good agents do a really good job but that is about 20% of them. The other 80% are just taking up space
My job is ok in ASDU. I wouldn't say I hate it but I also don't love it. The toughest part is trying to help agents that don't listen. I have no issue with pushback or if they suggest a different solution, but it can be frustrating. For example I will say your endorsement was denied because you didn't add a specific narrative and tell them to resubmit and exactly what narrative to add and they still won't listen. It's difficult to explain we all are on the same team, but we just have to tell them allstates rules and guidelines and they don't understand even if you show them in gateway or email them
