Laid off April 1st and supposed to get my severance check tomorrow. No pending direct deposit hmmm. Inquired and told there was a group of us forgotten or lost on the severance payout for tomorrow and now we have to wait 2 more weeks!! Wth is going on? How do you forget?? Or does Windstream just not have the money? Makes one wonder...

Legally they can't do a lot of things. But do. Case in point: tax forms supposed to be out by Jan 31. I've NEVER gotten mine til mid-February. Or later. Then other tax documents in March. Sloppy in every way

Legally they can't do that. You could threaten to report them to the employment board/contact "your lawyer" and see if that gets them to magically cut the check on time after all.
