My global protect is suddenly uninstalled today, and I can't access any resources.
Is it a rehearsal for the coming layoff?

Duh. Seagate is always one product cycle away from a layoff. Don’t worry new hires, you are cheap labor. It’s the long timers HR targets. Your new hire rec was probably the byproduct of the last layoff.
Just count days.
That’s the signal that you’ve been target for alien abduction.

What does virtual DC mean ? People there all redeployed ?
Any news on SSDC virtual DC?
Yes.. all the paper work required is being prepped. It may be may or June, before they actually pull the plug ( given how slow seagate moves)
Basically, they are rethinking on the viability of hdd vlsi ( gobyda is the last in the pipeline, if at all - it ever it sees the end). At this point, they are reviewing the existing hdd vlsi projects (goby7 and gobyda) and focus more on the upcoming cloud vlsi.
The argument going on in upper mgmt is - TCO soc team takes over the hdd vlsi development and LCO guys move over to the upcoming cloud vlsi.
And that also means few people laid off, since cloud vlsi does not need so many people.
Seagate will report fiscal third quarter 2022 financial results before the market opens on Wednesday, April 27, 2022
No wonder, that's the tradition.
