Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Layoffs info

People got laid off today as well at least 25 that I know of, some legacy sprint and some legacy T-Mobile. I am a manager in the NE and have been with T-Mobile for over 19 years. Still have my job so far but I am looking for other opportunities in my late 50’s…
By the way, the layoffs are not related to what legacy company you were with or your performance, 3 out of the 25 people I know have outstanding performance. I’m starting to think that they look at how much you make and base their decision on that.
Sadly, T-Mobile is not the company it used to be, they say we are OPEX challenged…
Quick advice from an old man, do not work more than what you are paid for, because that will be forgotten, and no one is going to consider it when this kind of layoffs hit. Peace..
current employee not gone yet ….

Bumped for info, OP is @2Akyu+1dLWk4vV.

What I heard is that the severance package is 2 months on payroll (WARN federal mandate) and a max of 26 weeks, depends on years of service and I think like 50% of next yr bonus and all shares will be vested.

This is surely the reason return to office has been delayed. Once the layoffs are done, in small increments to not alert negative press of course, they will give everyone a thin inexpensive t-shirt, throw food at everyone and call it a party.

They would NEVER offer voluntary layoffs because they know what would happen.

Is the severance package still the same? I've heard they made changes to it. No one enjoys being laid off and I wish you and all those impacted the best of luck.

Are the 25 you mentioned in any specific department?
